to the motherland.

Last time I went to El Salvador, I was there for my great-grandmother's funeral--she raised my mother. This was May 2007. Since then, I have not returned. Now I'm married and bringing my husband with me.
So many great memories from El Salvador.
Except for my dad, mom, 2 brothers, and 1 sister, everyone in my family lives out there: 2 grandmothers, grandfather, uncles, aunts, cousins. I love being there.
I'll make you jealous if I told you how awesome it is out there: one day you are at the beach, the next day you are climbing a volcano, and the next you are climbing a maraƱon tree.
I love the town where my grandparents live: Santa Maria Ostuma.

Here is my abuelita making her sopa de pollo.*Notice the stovetop*

And my abuelita Olimpia standing to show our lands.

We'll be gone for 8 days. Pray for my husband so he can miraculously speak Spanish when we are there...regardless, I'm there to interpret. =)
